Last chance to make a 2017 donation to the BC Libertarian Party
Why now? Two reasons:
First: Give voice to the libertarian message. Our candidate Kyle Geronazzo is eagerly anticipating the upcoming by-election expected to be called early in 2018 for the West Kelowna riding (Christy Clarke’s old seat). He will be renting space for a strongly worded anti-ICBC message on a very visible billboard at the entrance to Kelowna. It should create quite a fuss. Help Kyle get his message out!
Second: If you will be paying BC income tax, you get to direct some of the money they extract from you to an association that wants this to stop. A hundred dollar donation to the BCLP will only cost you net $25 since you get a tax credit of $75. A $500 donation will cost you net $200, up to a maximum $1150 (which will cost you net $483 after your tax credit). To be eligible for this credit for the 2017 tax year, you need make your donation by December 31st, just a few hours left!
This year, the Party has experienced a large growth in membership (over 150 at present) and finances (We have raised nearly $12,000 so far this year). We ran 30 candidates in the May election and achieved just under 8000 votes (a 300% increase from our 2013 showing). We have a vibrant leader in Clayton Welwood, a growing web and social media presence, and lots to contribute to political dialogue in BC: Who else wants to allow competition with government monopolies? Who else speaks consistently about reducing government interference in both our personal and our economic lives?
